SIA Student Email Account - 'How Do I Access Launch, Sign-In & Explore?
Answer:
All Sotheby's Institue of Art Students have access to the 'Help, Topics & Training' resources found in 'Single Sign-On'. This resource provides topic based instruction videos and quick start guides for further education in using the collaborative platform.
Note: As we continue to adjust to the 'new-normal' during this Work-From-Home (WFH) environment for the unforeseen future, we recommend that you use 'Single-Sign On' & 'Office.com (Microsoft) as your #1 email communication tool to communicate across our schools.
Email Account Access options':
- 'Two ways to access your email QUICK & EASY: 'Single Sign-On' & Microsoft's 'Office.com' Below provided directly within the application itself. 'Teams' provides topic based specific how-to articles & instructional videos/tutorials and quick start guides for further education in using the collaborative platform.
- Tip #1: Browser of choice: Google Chrome - for the best experience accessing all of SIA's systems.
Single-Sign On’ System:
- Use your new ‘SIA Student' email account address and :
i. Launch Navigate to: https://sso.sothebysinstitute.com/
ii.Enter Username: xxxxx.xxxxx@sia.edu
iii.Enter Password: (enter student assigned based on what was provided to you)
Next, click on ‘Webmail’ option below:
b. When the 'Webmail' option is selected this will automatically launch into another browser (Tip: via 'Google Chrome')
- Microsoft's 'Office.com' site will present itself, perform the following:
- Enter your SIA Student Account email address.
- Enter your password: <your personal credentials>
- You will then be prompted to setup Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) which provided a extra layer of security for your email account.
- Follow the prompts and answer appropriately based on the questions provided to you. Contact IT if you have any further issues on the MFA setup.
- Once completed you will be launched into your webmail version of your SIA Student Email Account.
Select - Outlook and then you will be able to view all emails.

Navigate to 'Office.com' directly via Chrome:
- Navigate to: https://www.office.com/ (via 'Google Chrome')
- Microsoft's 'Office.com' site will present itself, perform the following:
- Enter your SIA Student Account email address:
- Enter your password:
- Continue through the Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) process
